The Life Sciences Division provides biotechnology products, such as enzymes used in diagnostic reagents.

Musk: Tesla Humanoid Robot to Be Mass Produced in 2026, May Have Human Consciousness in 20 Years
On November 7, 2025, at Tesla's annual shareholder meeting, Musk shared several updates and plans for the company, focusing on humanoid robots, autonomous driving, production expansion, chip innovation, and an update on the company's mission. Regarding humanoid robots, Musk emphasized that they will be the largest product in history, with an expected market size of tens of billions of units. The ratio of personal robots to industrial robots is estimated to be around 1:3 to 1:5. He estimates that it will require "hundreds of billions of dollars" to train the artificial intelligence system of humanoid robots to run efficiently on low-power chips. In terms of product iteration, Musk stated that the current demonstration is of the 2.5th generation humanoid robot, and the production of the third generation Tesla humanoid robot will begin next year. He announced that humanoid robots would adopt an annual release cycle, with the 4th generation expected to be launched in 2027 and the 5th generation in 2028. Elon Musk even stated that humans might achieve uploading snapshots of human consciousness into Tesla humanoid robots through Neuralink within 20 years. By then, humanoid robots might possess human consciousness.
