Panasonic's "M9" Copper-Clad Laminate Dielectric Performance Reaches New Heights, Driving Another Upgrade of High-Frequency High-Speed Resin Materials
Panasonic Industrial, a leading company in copper clad laminates, has revealed some performance data of its 9th generation copper clad laminate, MEGTRON9, on its official website. The circuit loss of M9 copper clad laminate shows a significant reduction compared to the M8 copper clad laminate, and this performance gap becomes even more pronounced in high-frequency electrical signal environments. The high-frequency performance of the M9 copper clad laminate has seen a significant improvement over the M8, poised to lead a new revolution in high-speed bandwidth, with single-channel interface speeds rising to 224Gbps. The Df value of the M9 series copper clad laminate is lower than that of the M8 series, which means that the previously used PPO/PPE high-frequency high-speed resins are increasingly unable to meet the performance requirements of the M9 copper clad laminate. The breakthrough in dielectric performance has driven further upgrades in upstream resin materials. M9 copper clad laminates are likely to use more hydrocarbon resins and special hydrocarbon resins to meet the electrical performance demands.
