Nvidia Enters 800V Era, Sungrow Bets on AIDC Power Supply
NVIDIA plans to invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI to support the expansion of its AI Data Centers (AIDC). In addition to computing power, storage, and communication chips, power supply is also a significant component of AI data centers and is crucial for reducing energy consumption. To this end, NVIDIA is fully promoting the implementation of the 800V high-voltage direct current (HVDC) data center architecture in the Rubin next-generation processor plan, with full-scale production expected by 2027. In the backdrop of the rapid rise of AIDC, domestic manufacturers have also begun to enter the AIDC power market. Recently, Sungrow officially announced the establishment of an AIDC business unit and is accelerating research and development, with the aim of launching related products by 2026. Meanwhile, another major player in the photovoltaic inverter and energy storage industry, Deye, has also announced plans to enter the AIDC power market.
