China Increases Tariffs on US Imports from 84% to 125%

According to the Customs Law of the People's Republic of China, the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, and other relevant laws and regulations, as well as the basic principles of international law, and with the approval of the State Council, the Tariff Policy Committee of the State Council has issued an announcement.Effective from April 12, 2025, the additional tariff rate specified in the "Announcement of the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council on Adjusting the Additional Tariff Measures on Imported Goods Originating from the United States" (Announcement No. 5 of 2025 by the Tariff Commission) will be increased from 84% to 125%.Other items shall be implemented in accordance with the announcement "On the Imposition of Additional Tariffs on Imports Originating from the United States" (Announcement No. 4 of 2025 of the State Council Tariff Commission).
