August Polyethylene Import and Export Volumes Reach New Highs

In August, China's polyethylene imports showed a downward trend, significantly lower than the same period last year, hitting a seven-year low. Meanwhile, export volumes continued to grow, reaching a historical high. This contrasting situation in China's polyethylene imports and exports is closely related to the continuous increase in domestic polyethylene production capacity and the rising self-sufficiency rate. The import and export pattern has gradually changed; however, China's polyethylene industry still faces the dilemma of "excess in low-end products and dependence on high-end products."
