FRP daylighting panels are widely used in China due to their advantages such as corrosion resistance, aging resistance, impact resistance, high light transmittance, aesthetic molding, low cost, energy saving and environmental protection, durability against aging and corrosion, good light transmission, flame retardancy, long-lasting performance, and rich colors. FRP daylighting panels are composed of high-performance top film, reinforced polyester, and fiberglass. The top film provides excellent UV resistance and static electricity resistance. UV resistance protects the polyester of the FRP daylighting panels from yellowing and aging, preventing the loss of light transmission characteristics. Static electricity resistance ensures that dust on the surface is easily washed away by rain or blown away by the wind, maintaining a clean and aesthetically pleasing surface. Installation and Usage 1. Before fixing the daylighting panels, pilot holes must be drilled. The diameter of the holes must be 50% larger than the diameter of the fixing screws to avoid internal stress cracking of the daylighting panels caused by thermal expansion and contraction. 2. The daylighting panels are fixed using aluminum profile fasteners. The corrugated daylighting panels are connected and fixed using daylighting panel brackets and self-tapping screws, followed by sealing with adhesive. The position of the daylighting panels is generally set in the middle of the span. 3. When the daylighting panels overlap with the steel plates in the longitudinal direction, there must be a minimum overlap of 200mm, and two waterproof strips must be adhered. 4. The connection of the daylighting panels with self-tapping screws must include cover plates. Sunlight panels undergo significant thermal deformation and can easily be cut by self-tapping screws, so larger holes should be made where self-tapping screws are installed. The thermal expansion of the daylighting panels must be considered during installation. 5. When fixing the daylighting panels, good waterproof washers must be used between the screws and the daylighting panels to provide waterproof and dustproof protection. After inserting the washers into the screws, use a power drill to secure them into the purlins, completing the fixing of the daylighting panels. 6. Daylighting panels do not need to overlap within 12m; if exceeding 12m, an overlap is required, with an overlap length of 200 - 400mm. Apply two coats of sealing adhesive at the overlap. There is no need for edge trimming when applying adhesive transversely, while for longitudinal overlaps with color steel plates, the board type should be considered. For ordinary profiled steel plates, edge trimming is generally not required; they should be directly fixed with self-tapping screws and sealed with adhesive. For interlocking boards, edge trimming is necessary. 7. During the construction of daylighting panels, it is strictly prohibited to step directly on the peaks to avoid cracking. A non-slip thick wooden board measuring 1200mm x 300mm (length x width) must be placed at the transverse position of the daylighting panels, and the feet should be placed on it to drill pilot holes and fix screws. Application Scope Daylighting in industrial factory roofs and walls, insulation and daylighting in agricultural vegetable greenhouses, daylighting in public sports venues' roofs, and fire-retardant, anti-corrosion, and heat insulation in buildings with special requirements.
