FRP daylighting panels are widely used in China due to their advantages of corrosion resistance, aging resistance, impact resistance, high light transmittance, aesthetic molding, low cost, energy saving and environmental protection, durability against aging and corrosion, good light transmission, flame retardancy, long-lasting performance, and rich colors. The FRP daylighting panels are composed of a high-performance top film, reinforced polyester, and fiberglass. The top film serves to provide excellent UV resistance and anti-static properties. UV resistance protects the polyester in the FRP daylighting panels from yellowing and aging, which would lead to a loss of light transmittance. Anti-static properties ensure that dust on the surface can easily be washed away by rain or blown away by wind, maintaining a clean and attractive surface. Installation and Usage 1. Prior to fixing the daylighting panels, pilot holes must be drilled, with the hole diameter exceeding 50% of the diameter of the fixing screws to avoid internal stress cracking caused by thermal expansion and contraction. 2. The daylighting panels should be fixed using aluminum profile fasteners; corrugated daylighting panels should be connected using daylighting panel brackets and self-tapping screws, followed by sealing with adhesive. The position of the daylighting panels is generally set at the midpoint of the span. 3. When overlapping the daylighting panels with steel plates in the longitudinal direction, a minimum overlap of 200mm must be maintained, and two water stop strips should be applied. 4. The connection between the daylighting panels and self-tapping screws must have cover plates. The sunlight board has significant thermal deformation, making it prone to being cut by self-tapping screws; therefore, larger holes should be made where the self-tapping screws are installed. Consideration should be given to the thermal expansion of the daylighting panels during installation. 5. When fixing the daylighting panels, good waterstop washers must be used between the screws and the daylighting panels to prevent water and dust infiltration. After inserting the waterstop washer into the screw, use a power drill to lock it into the purlin, thus completing the fixing of the daylighting panels. 6. No overlapping is required for daylighting panels within 12m; exceeding 12m requires an overlap of 200-400mm. Two coats of sealant should be applied at the overlap areas. Horizontal seams do not require edge treatment, while the vertical overlap with color steel plates should depend on the board type. For ordinary pressed steel plates, edge treatment is generally not considered; directly fix it with self-tapping screws and apply sealing adhesive. For interlocking panels, edge treatment is necessary. 7. During construction of the daylighting panels, it is strictly prohibited to step directly on the peaks to avoid cracking the panels. A non-slip thick wooden board measuring 1200mm x 300mm (length x width) must be placed on the transverse position of the daylighting panels to step on while drilling pilot holes and fixing screws. Application Scope The application scope includes roofing and wall daylighting in industrial buildings, insulation and daylighting in agricultural vegetable greenhouses, roofing daylighting in public sports venues, and fire-resistant, anti-corrosion, and thermal insulation requirements in special buildings. It is also applicable in various daylighting fields such as warehouses, greenhouses, stations, docks, airports, commercial buildings, and steel structures.
