FRP daylighting tiles, due to their advantages such as corrosion resistance, aging resistance, impact resistance, high light transmittance, aesthetically pleasing design, low cost, energy conservation and environmental protection, aging and corrosion resistance, good light transmittance, flame retardancy, long-lasting performance, and rich colors, are widely used in the domestic market. FRP daylighting tiles are composed of high-performance upper films, reinforced polyester, and fiberglass. The upper film is designed to provide excellent UV resistance and anti-static properties. UV resistance is essential to protect the polyester of the FRP daylighting panels from yellowing and aging, which can lead to a loss of light transmittance. Anti-static properties ensure that dust on the surface can be easily washed away by rain or blown away by wind, maintaining a clean and aesthetically pleasing surface. Installation and Usage 1. Before fixing the daylighting tiles, pilot holes must be drilled, with a hole diameter greater than 50% of the diameter of the fixing screws, to avoid internal stress cracking due to thermal expansion and contraction. 2. The daylighting tiles are fixed using aluminum profile fasteners. The corrugated daylighting tiles are connected and fixed using daylighting tile brackets and self-tapping screws, followed by sealing with adhesive. The position of the daylighting tiles is generally set in the middle of the span. 3. When overlapping daylighting tiles with steel plates longitudinally, a minimum overlap of 200mm must be maintained, and two water stop strips should be affixed. 4. When connecting the daylighting tiles with self-tapping screws, a cover plate is required. Due to the significant thermal deformation of the polycarbonate panels, they are prone to being punctured by self-tapping screws; therefore, larger holes should be made at the self-tapping screw sites. The flexibility of the daylighting panels should be considered during installation. 5. When fixing the daylighting tiles, a good waterproof washer must be used between the screws and the daylighting panels to prevent water and dust ingress. After inserting the waterproof washer into the screw, use a power drill to lock it into the purlin, completing the fixing of the daylighting panels. 6. Daylighting tiles do not require overlapping if they are within 12m. If the length exceeds 12m, overlapping is necessary, with an overlap length of 200 - 400mm. Apply two coats of sealing adhesive at the overlapping joints. Transversely glued joints do not require edge treatment, while longitudinal overlaps with color steel plates depend on the panel type. For ordinary profiled steel plates, edge treatment is generally not considered; they can be directly fixed with self-tapping screws and sealed with adhesive. Interlocking panels require edge treatment. 7. During construction of the daylighting tiles, it is strictly forbidden to step directly on the peaks to avoid cracking the panels. A non-slip thick wooden board measuring 1200mm x 300mm (length x width) must be placed at the transverse position of the daylighting panels, and the worker should step on it to perform pilot hole drilling and screw fixing. Application Range Daylighting applications include roofs and walls of industrial buildings, thermal insulation and daylighting in agricultural vegetable greenhouses, roof daylighting in public sports venues, and locations requiring flame retardancy, corrosion resistance, and thermal insulation in special buildings. Additionally, they are used in warehouses, greenhouses, train stations, docks, airports, commercial buildings, and various steel structures.
