FRP skylight tiles are widely used in China due to their advantages of corrosion resistance, aging resistance, impact resistance, high light transmittance, beautiful molding, low cost, energy saving and environmental protection, good light transmission, flame retardancy, durability, and rich colors.
FRP skylight tiles are composed of high-performance top coating, reinforced polyester, and fiberglass, with the top coating playing a good role in UV resistance and antistatic properties. UV resistance is to protect the polyester of FRP skylight tiles from yellowing and aging prematurely, losing light transmittance characteristics. Antistatic properties ensure that dust on the surface is easily washed away by rain or blown away by wind, maintaining a clean and beautiful surface.
Installation and Use
1. Before fixing the skylight tiles, it is necessary to drill holes first, and the aperture must be larger than 50% of the diameter of the fixing screws to avoid internal stress cracking of the skylight tiles caused by thermal expansion and contraction.
2. Skylight tiles are fixed with aluminum profile clips, and corrugated skylight tiles are connected and fixed with skylight tile brackets and self-tapping screws, then sealed with glue. Skylight tiles are generally placed at the mid-span.
3. When skylight tiles overlap with steel plates longitudinally, there must be a 200mm overlap and two waterproof strips must be attached.
4. When skylight tiles are connected with self-tapping screws, there must be a cover plate. The thermal expansion and contraction of the polycarbonate sheet is large, making it easy to be cut by self-tapping screws. Therefore, larger holes should be drilled in the polycarbonate sheet where self-tapping screws are installed. When installing skylight tiles, consider the expansibility of the skylight tiles.
5. When fixing skylight tiles, good waterproof washers must be used to place between the screws and skylight tiles for waterproofing and dustproofing. After inserting the waterproof washers into the screws, use an electric drill to lock them into the purlin, completing the fixing of the skylight tiles.
6. Skylight tiles do not need to overlap within 12m, but need to overlap if exceeding 12m, with an overlap length of 200-400mm. Two layers of sealant should be applied at the overlapping joint, and no edge folding is required for horizontal bonding. The vertical bonding of color steel plates depends on the plate type. For ordinary profiled steel plates, edge folding is generally not considered, and they are directly fixed with self-tapping screws to the color plate, with sealant applied. Overlapping plates require edge folding.
7. During the construction of skylight tiles, it is strictly forbidden to step directly on the corrugations to avoid cracking. A non-slip thick wooden board measuring 1200mmx300mm (length x width) must be placed horizontally on the skylight tiles for drilling guide holes and fixing screws.
Application Range
Industrial factory roof and wall lighting, agricultural vegetable greenhouse insulation and lighting, public sports venue roof lighting, special buildings with requirements for flame retardancy, corrosion resistance, heat insulation, etc. There are also many areas in lighting such as warehouses, greenhouses, stations, docks, airports, commercial buildings, and steel structures.
