Construction Materials-Other Building Materials
FRP daylighting tiles have the advantages of corrosion resistance, aging resistance, impact resistance, high light transmittance, aesthetic shaping, low cost, energy saving and environmental protection, excellent aging and corrosion resistance, good light transmittance, flame retardancy, long-lasting performance, and rich colors, making them widely used domestically.
FRP daylighting tiles are composed of high-performance top film, reinforced polyester, and fiberglass. The top film should provide excellent ultraviolet and static electricity resistance. Ultraviolet resistance is necessary to protect the polyester of the FRP daylighting panel from yellowing and aging, and to prevent premature loss of light transmittance. Static electricity resistance ensures that dust on the surface can be easily washed away by rain or blown away by wind, maintaining a clean and attractive appearance.
Installation and Use:
1. Before fixing the daylighting tiles, pilot holes must be drilled, with the hole diameter being at least 50% larger than the diameter of the fixing screws to avoid internal stress fractures caused by thermal expansion and contraction.
2. The daylighting tiles are fixed using aluminum profile fasteners. The corrugated daylighting tiles are fixed using daylighting tile brackets and self-tapping screws, followed by sealing with adhesive. The position of the daylighting tiles is generally set at the center of the span.
3. When overlapping the daylighting tiles with steel plates in the longitudinal direction, there must be a minimum overlap of 200mm, and two water stop strips should be adhered.
4. The daylighting tiles must have cover plates when connected with self-tapping screws. Due to significant thermal deformation of the polycarbonate sheets, they are prone to being punctured by self-tapping screws, so larger holes should be made where the self-tapping screws are installed. The thermal expansion of the daylighting panels should be considered during installation.
5. When fixing the daylighting tiles, good water stop washers must be used between the screws and the daylighting panels to ensure waterproofing and dustproofing. After fitting the water stop washers onto the screws, use a power drill to lock them into the purlins, completing the fixing of the daylighting panels.
6. Daylighting tiles do not require overlapping if they are within 12m. If exceeding 12m, overlapping is required, with an overlap length of 200-400mm. Two coats of sealing adhesive should be applied at the overlap, and horizontal adhesive application does not require edge trimming. The overlap of vertical color steel plates depends on the panel type; for ordinary pressed steel plates, edge trimming is generally not considered, and they should be directly fixed to the color plates with self-tapping screws and sealed with adhesive. For interlocking panels, edge trimming is required.
7. During construction of the daylighting tiles, it is strictly prohibited to step directly on the peaks to avoid cracking the daylighting panels. A non-slip thick wooden board measuring 1200mm x 300mm (length x width) must be placed at the transverse position of the daylighting panel, and workers should step on it to perform pilot hole drilling and screw fixing.
Application Range:
Industrial factory roof and wall lighting, agricultural vegetable greenhouse insulation and lighting, public sports venue roof lighting, and special requirement buildings for flame retardant, corrosion-resistant, and thermal insulation applications. Additionally, they are used in various daylighting fields including warehouses, greenhouses, stations, docks, airports, commercial buildings, and steel structures.
