FRP daylighting tiles are widely used in China due to their advantages such as corrosion resistance, aging resistance, impact resistance, high light transmittance, aesthetic molding, low cost, energy conservation and environmental protection, durability against aging and corrosion, good light transmission, flame retardance, long-lasting performance, and rich colors. FRP daylighting tiles are composed of high-performance surface film, reinforced polyester, and fiberglass. The surface film is designed to provide excellent UV resistance and static electricity resistance. UV resistance protects the polyester in the FRP daylighting panel from yellowing and aging, which can lead to a loss of light transmission characteristics. Static electricity resistance ensures that dust on the surface can be easily washed away by rain or blown away by wind, maintaining a clean and attractive surface. Installation Use 1. Before fixing the daylighting tiles, pilot holes must be drilled, and the hole diameter must be larger than 50% of the fixed screw diameter to avoid internal stress cracking of the tiles caused by thermal expansion and contraction. 2. The daylighting tiles are fixed using aluminum profile fasteners. Wave-shaped daylighting tiles are connected and fixed with brackets and self-tapping screws, then sealed with adhesive. The position of the daylighting tiles is generally set in the middle of the span. 3. When overlapping daylighting tiles with steel plates in the longitudinal direction, there must be a minimum overlap of 200mm, and two waterproof strips should be adhered. 4. The connection between the daylighting tiles and self-tapping screws must have a cover plate. Because polycarbonate sheets can deform significantly under heat and cold, they can easily be pierced by self-tapping screws, so larger holes should be made where self-tapping screws are installed. The expansion and contraction of the daylighting panels should be considered during installation. 5. When fixing the daylighting tiles, good waterproof washers must be used between the screws and the daylighting panel to prevent water and dust infiltration. After inserting the waterproof washer into the screw, use an electric drill to lock it into the purlin, thus completing the fixation of the daylighting panel. 6. Daylighting tiles do not require overlapping within 12m; if over 12m, overlapping is necessary, with an overlap length of 200 - 400mm. Apply two coats of sealant at the overlap, and lateral adhesive does not need to be trimmed. For longitudinal overlaps on color steel plates, it depends on the panel type; for ordinary profiled steel plates, trimming is generally not considered, and they can be directly fixed with self-tapping screws and sealed with adhesive. For interlocking panels, trimming is required. 7. During the construction of daylighting tiles, it is strictly forbidden to step directly on the peaks to avoid cracking the panels. A non-slip thick wooden board measuring 1200mm x 300mm (length x width) must be placed horizontally on the daylighting panel, and the foot should step on it to perform drilling and fixing work for the daylighting panels. Application Range Used in industrial factory roofs and walls for lighting, agricultural vegetable greenhouses for insulation and lighting, public sports venues for roofing lighting, and buildings with special requirements for flame retardance, corrosion resistance, and thermal insulation.
