Urgent Speedup! State Council Supervision and Promotion Standards: Requirements for Acceleration in the PET and HDPE "Plastic Recycling Design Guide"
In order to thoroughly implement the national decision-making and deployment on plastic pollution治理, and to accelerate the green and low-carbon transformation of the plastic products industry, the State Council has listed the "Guidelines for Recyclable and Reusable Design of Plastics Part 1: PET" and "Guidelines for Recyclable and Reusable Design of Plastics Part 2: HDPE" as key supervision projects in March 2024.
According to the latest deployment requirements from relevant national departments, the two national standards for "Design for Recyclability and Reusability of Plastics," originally scheduled for completion by the end of 2025, have been fully advanced.
As the third batch of recommended national standard projects for 2024, the standard development cycle has been significantly reduced from the originally planned 18 months, and it is now scheduled to be officially released in mid-2025.
Time is tight and the task is heavy, to ensure the task is completed on time and with quality, the standard formulation work has been significantly advanced.
The concept of "promoting green design and enhancing the safety and recyclability of plastic products," clearly stated in the 14th Five-Year Plan, has taken root in people's minds.
Currently, relevant national departments have fully launched research work on the comprehensive utilization of industrial resources for the 15th Five-Year Plan period. It is expected that "green design" will become the core concept and key focus of plastic pollution control during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
As an important component of "green design," the results of this standard development will be directly incorporated into the national policy system, providing clear direction and normative basis for the development of the plastic products industry.

The global plastic treaty process is pressuring.
International efforts in addressing plastic pollution have shown that recyclable and regenerative design is a fundamental technical approach to solving the problem of plastic pollution. Actively promoting such designs will not only help achieve substantial progress in domestic plastic pollution control in China, but also enhance China’s话语权 and influence in global plastic pollution governance, contributing Chinese wisdom and solutions to building a global community of shared future.
The development of the two national standards is a deep collaboration among policies, industries, and international trends. In order to ensure the high-quality and high-efficiency completion of the development work for the two national standards, we are now publicly soliciting participating units from the entire industry.
Scope of Solicitation: Terminal brands, plastic products, polymers, additive companies (ink, adhesives), recycling companies, environmental companies, government agencies, and testing institutions.
