Tesla Europe Sales Plummet In July: United Kingdom (UK) And Germany Halved, Sweden Drops 86%
On August 6th, the latest data shows that Tesla's sales in major European markets are facing an accelerating deterioration. According to data released by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), Tesla's sales in Germany in July were only 1,110 units, a sharp year-on-year decline of 55.1%. In the first seven months of this year, Tesla's cumulative sales in Germany reached 10,000 units, a plunge of 57.8% compared to the same period last year.
Tesla’s sales in the UK are also far from optimistic. According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, Tesla’s registrations in the UK dropped from 2,462 in July last year to 987 this July, a sharp decline of 60%. In addition, Tesla’s sales in France, Sweden, and Belgium also saw significant declines, with July registrations down by 27%, 86%, and 58% respectively. In Italy, Tesla’s new car registrations from January to July fell by 34.74% compared to the same period in 2024.
Despite this, Tesla's performance in the Spanish and Norwegian markets showed highlights, with registrations increasing by 27% and 83% respectively. However, this cannot overshadow the overall trend of Tesla's sales decline in Europe for the seventh consecutive month.
IT Home has noticed that Tesla's performance in the Chinese market is relatively stable. According to the Passenger Car Association on August 4th, Tesla's wholesale sales in China in July were 67,886 units, a month-on-month decrease of 5.2%. This also means that...Tesla's total sales in the UK, Germany, France, and Switzerland in July (3,567 units) were still less than a fraction of the Chinese market.
