Shell Partners with ISOFlex to Launch Circular Packaging Solution
On September 26, ZHESU Plastic Vision reported that Shell Polymers has initiated a commercial collaboration with ISOFlex, a subsidiary of Sigma Plastics Group, to promote the application of ISCC PLUS certified recycled polyethylene in the food-grade flexible packaging sector.

The cooperation announcement was made on the eve of the Pack Expo 2025 in the United States. During the exhibition, Sigma Group and its ISOFlex subsidiary will showcase their film production capabilities and discuss with customers and industry peers their progress in advancing sustainable packaging.
The 2025 Pack Expo International in the United States will be held from September 29 to October 1, 2025, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Circular materials
As a leading packaging company, ISOFlex can produce packaging films using certified circular materials through this collaboration, achieving its internal sustainability goals while ensuring product performance is not compromised. Both companies stated that this initiative is a breakthrough in the industry's progression towards high-performance circular solutions.
Shell Polymers supplies certified circular polyethylene from its plant in Monaca, Pennsylvania. This resin possesses virgin-grade quality and comes with certification documents. The documents indicate that its circular attributes have been achieved through a mass balance approach to ensure a traceable chain of custody, and have been audited by a third party in accordance with the ISCC PLUS standard.
Ryan Siegfried, Global Marketing Manager at Shell Polymers, stated: "This collaboration demonstrates Shell Polymers' ability to meet processors' real needs for circular solutions, including certified circular resins. Our ISCC PLUS certified materials enable customers like ISOFlex to create solutions that offer both traceability and functionality, allowing more end markets to adopt recycled plastics."
This rigorous certification process enables processors like ISOFlex to produce high-quality film products while supporting the transition to a circular economy for plastics.
David McKinney, President of ISOFlex, a subsidiary of Sigma Group, pointed out: "This collaboration fully demonstrates how Shell Polymers' certified circular solutions help our customers achieve both performance and sustainability goals. By partnering with Shell, we can maintain the reliable functionality of our products while launching innovative solutions that meet our customers' expectations."
