Safety Technology Achievements Exported Globally! Geely Hosts United Nations World Vehicle Regulations Thematic Meeting
From August 26 to 28, Geely, in collaboration with the China Automotive Standardization Research Institute, successfully hosted the 11th meeting of the United Nations World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations Working Group on Passive Safety (GRSP) Informal Working Group on Child Presence Detection (IWG-CLIV), jointly working on the development of the GTR global regulation. As a representative of automakers and the host, Geely showcased the application of child presence detection technology in its vehicles to international experts, contributing Geely's expertise to the formulation of United Nations regulations.
Geely has pioneered the research and application of Child Presence Detection (CPD) technology in the industry, forming a complete closed-loop system from detection and warning to protection. Euro NCAP test results show that the Zeekr X and Zeekr 001 are the first models globally to score on direct child presence detection functionality. Vehicles equipped with this feature can automatically trigger the horn, activate hazard lights, and send alert messages to the owner via an app when a child is detected left inside the car. Some models can also intelligently start the air conditioning to adjust the interior temperature, effectively ensuring the safety of children left inside the vehicle. At the conference, the child presence detection functionality of the Galaxy M9 and Zeekr 7XEu was showcased, and representatives from both domestic and international markets highly recognized Geely's technology in the field of child presence detection and protection, providing a technical reference for the formulation of global regulations.
Geely truly lives up to its reputation as a “family of safety.” According to the latest ranking of automotive safety technology patent disclosures released by the China Automotive Technology & Research Center, Geely ranks first among Chinese automakers with 1,562 safety patents disclosed. To date, more than 40 Geely models—including the Boyue, Xingyue L, Lynk & Co 01, Galaxy E5, Zeekr X, and Zeekr 7X—have received the highest safety ratings from authoritative organizations worldwide, such as Euro NCAP five stars, Australian ANCAP five stars, and C-NCAP five stars.
