Qinghu Elastomer Applies for New TPE Flame-Retardant Extrusion Wire Sheath Material to Improve Long-Term Oil Exudation Issues

Recently, information from the China National Intellectual Property Administration shows that Ningbo Qinghu Elastomer Technology Co., Ltd. has applied for a patent titled "A Novel TPE Flame-Retardant Extruded Wire Sheath Material and Its Preparation Method," with publication number CN120399386A and application date of May 2025.

The patent abstract shows that the present invention belongs to the technical field of polymer materials, and relates to a novel TPE flame-retardant extruded wire sheath material and its preparation method. The invention uses a new cyclic block copolymer, CBC, which is a further hydrogenated product of SEBS. This material is closer to the white oil component (a mixture of saturated linear alkanes and cycloalkanes), thereby improving the traditional TPE material’s “oil exudation” problem after long-term use. In addition, since CBC has a structure more similar to polyolefins, it can significantly enhance the mechanical strength of the material. Furthermore, by introducing an intumescent halogen-free phosphorus-nitrogen flame retardant, the invention avoids the use of polyphenylene ether resin, which has a strong odor and reduces UV resistance. This not only ensures excellent flame-retardant properties of the material, but also overcomes the poor processing environment and the decline in anti-UV yellowing performance caused by adding polyphenylene ether.
