Polypropylene: Post-Holiday Downstream Operations Rebound, Why Is Demand Still Lethargic?
Introduction
During the Spring Festival, the operating load rates of various downstream industries all declined. After the holiday, the operating load of the polypropylene downstream industry rebounded from a low level, showing a significant increase. However, the performance of downstream enterprises in raw material procurement was below expectations.

By comparing the operating conditions of the plastic weaving industry over the past few years, it is found that the operating load of the plastic weaving industry in February 2025 increased month-on-month, but it still remained at a relatively low level compared to the same period in recent years. According to the data statistics from Zhuochuang Information, the average operating load rate of the main downstream plastic weaving industry in February was 42.00%, an increase of 5.25 percentage points month-on-month, 11 percentage points higher than the same period last year, but still 7.33 percentage points lower than the highest point in recent years during the same period. At the end of the month, as futures prices fell, the spot market price of filament also dropped, and some factories chose to replenish stocks at lower prices, leading to an increase in raw material purchases.

In February 2025, the average operating load rate of the injection molding industry was at a historically normal level. According to the
