Planning for over ten million tons! A 5,000-ton-per-year bio-based fiber project goes into production.
Bio-based Energy and Materials 2025-04-01 10:02:46

On March 28, the inauguration ceremony for the pilot project of Xinxiang Chemical Fiber's annual 5,000-ton bacterial grass biomass fiber R&D was held at the Bailu Bio-based New Materials Industrial Park.

At the ceremony, Ji Yudong, the company's general manager, delivered a speech stating that the industrialization of fungal grass fiber is not only a technological breakthrough but also a green revolution in textile raw materials. Xinxiang Chemical Fiber has already initiated a comprehensive industrial chain layout, from fungal grass pulping to fiber manufacturing, and from industry-university-research cooperation.

According to previous reports, the 5,000-ton-per-year industrial R&D pilot project for Juncao biomass fiber utilizes domestically advanced refining tower equipment and state-of-the-art displacement technology. Compared to traditional refining processes, it can reduce energy consumption by 20%-30%, while ensuring more uniform distribution of chemicals and temperature, thereby enhancing process flexibility and improving fiber quality. The key technologies for Juncao fiber production have been recognized by an expert panel from the China Forestry Industry Association as being at the forefront of international standards.

In market expansion, Juncao fiber, leveraging its antibacterial and eco-friendly properties, has secured small-scale purchases from major short fiber industry giants at a unit price exceeding 20,000 yuan per ton. Its downstream applications span across apparel, home textiles, medical protection, and other fields. The company has established the Henan Fiber New Materials Green Manufacturing Technology Industrial Research Institute, collaborating with universities and enterprises to accelerate technology transformation. Additionally, production bases are being constructed in Tumushuke, Xinjiang, and Dongying, Shandong, with the goal of establishing 3-5 annual 5-million-ton Juncao new material bases by 2035, gradually reshaping the global dissolving pulp industry landscape.

On the performance front, on the evening of March 27, Xinxiang Chemical Fiber released its 2024 annual report. The company achieved total operating revenue of approximately 7.366 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.18%; net profit attributable to the listed company's shareholders was about 246 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 682.52%; basic earnings per share stood at 0.1574 yuan.
