Report and Guest Introduction
Report Title: Market Trends and Packaging Strategies
Report Abstract:
A brief introduction to the development trends of the current food market, and in response to the trends in the existing food market, the changes in market dynamics and food packaging design.
Guest Profile:
Chen Junjiang, the Director of the R&D Center at Want Want Group, graduated from National Chung Hsing University with a degree in Food Science and from Da-Yeh University with a master's degree in Food Engineering, obtaining his bachelor's and master's degrees in 1992 and 1994, respectively. He joined the group’s R&D team in 1996 and has focused on research and development for over twenty years, organizing the development of more than a hundred new products and applying for multiple invention patents. Under Mr. Chen's leadership, Want Want's R&D team has more than a hundred professionals, covering food technology research, food analysis and testing, consumer surveys, and market research. Mr. Chen serves as the Deputy Director of the Group's Technology Center, which has been recognized as a municipal-level enterprise technology center in Shanghai. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Potato Food Professional Committee of the China Food Industry Association and a member of the Children's Food Branch of the China Society of Food Science and Technology.
Report Title: Innovation and Development of Packaging Materials for Snacks and Leisure Products
Report Abstract:
This unit, in collaboration with partner units, has jointly innovated and developed water-based coating materials for paper products that meet hygiene and safety requirements, adhere to paper coating process standards, and are environmentally friendly. Based on the target requirements, molecular design and synthesis have been carried out to produce acrylic copolymer coatings (partially using bio-based monomers), oil and water-resistant copolymer coatings, and copolymer coatings with dense structures, which have been successfully industrialized. In particular, the work of replacing plastic with paper and endowing paper with surface/interface functional requirements is distinctive and leading in this field.
Guest introduction:
Bai Yongping obtained a Ph.D. in Polymer Materials from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1996 and has been teaching there since 1995. His research focuses on functional membrane materials, special adhesives, and sealing materials. He has successfully developed various functional BOPET film materials, radiation-resistant polyimide resins for composite material neutron moderators used in nuclear reactors (which have been applied in bulk), special adhesives containing fluorine for extreme environments (which have also been applied in bulk), and optical acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives, among over 20 new varieties. He has applied for more than 180 Chinese invention patents, with over 40 of them being commercially transformed; he has published more than 80 research papers both domestically and internationally, undertaken various research projects at the national, provincial, municipal, and enterprise levels, and has received multiple national and provincial-level awards with collaborators.
Report Title: Sharing Practices on Food Safety Compliance in Snack Food Packaging
Report Summary:
- Brief introduction to Amcor Group; - Introduction to the composition of snack food packaging; - Introduction to Amcor's types of snack food packaging; - How Amcor conducts compliance assessments for snack food packaging; - New concerns regarding substances in food packaging due to developments in toxicology and science.
Guest Introduction:
Su Jieling graduated from Guangdong University of Technology with a major in Packaging Engineering. After graduation, she focused on the flexible packaging industry, engaging in quality management and product safety-related work. Since March 2016, she has been working in product safety management at Amcor China, familiar with domestic and international food contact regulations, and has a certain understanding of product safety compliance for upstream raw materials.
