Omya to Launch High-Performance Polymer Distribution Business at K 2025
Global essential minerals producer and specialty materials distributor Omya will showcase its latest innovations at K 2025 in Düsseldorf. The focus will be on high-performance polymers, circularity, decarbonization, and lightweighting. Omya will present a range of sustainable solutions to accelerate the transition to a circular economy. You are welcome to visit Omya at Hall 6, Booth D75.
A key highlight is the launch of Omya Performance Polymers Distribution (OPPD). Established earlier this year, OPPD combines Omya’s global polymer distribution network with Distrupol, enhancing the company’s ability to serve dynamic global markets with a full range of high-performance polymers.
Pre-consumer recycled grade for biopolymers
Omya's advanced calcium carbonate solutions can reduce carbon footprint and enhance the performance of plastic products. The company offers pre-consumer recycled grades, including Omyaloop FC for general applications and Omya Smartfill 55-AV for engineering materials and biopolymers. These products are verified by Bureau Veritas and produced using green electricity. These grades can reduce emissions by up to two-thirds and support compliance with EU sustainability directives.
“Our mineral solutions reduce environmental impact while enhancing performance.Said Marco Viel, Vice President of Polymers.
Lightweighting to improve performance and efficiency
Omya's hollow glass microspheres — Omyasphere 900 series are carefully designed to significantly reduce product weight while maintaining strength. These lightweight fillers are ideal for automotive, aerospace, and electronics applications, offering better flowability, higher filler loadings, and enhanced thermal and dielectric properties. They support dimensional stability and are suitable for advanced polymer and construction applications.
Performance of the health market combined with sustainability.
Omyafilm's new development enables the production of thinner films without affecting process stability or product quality. Meanwhile, Omyafiber has been commercialized into the non-woven fabric, textile, and carpet industries, offering not only the general advantages of reducing material costs and minimizing environmental impact but also technical advantages.
In addition to minerals, Omya also distributes a variety of specialty materials through partnerships with leading manufacturers, including bio-based additives and carbon dioxide reduction solutions. This integrated approach enables Omya to offer tailored high-performance solutions to meet the evolving needs of the plastics industry. With a global presence and deep technical expertise, Omya is a trusted partner in innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.
Omya invites visitors to meet the team, experience live demonstrations, and learn how Omya is helping to shape the future of plastics.
