Nissei Plastic Finalizes India New Manufacturing Plant Location

Japanese injection molding machine manufacturers Seis Plastic Industry Co., Ltd.The location of its new manufacturing plant in India has been finalized, with a turnkey property selected in the Sanand industrial area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The acquisition includes 35,000 square meters of land and existing factory buildings, with a total floor area of 11,835.46 square meters. The company plans to invest approximately USD 10.2 million (JPY 1.5 billion) in this facility.
Production motor
According to the company, the Indian factory will produce electric molding machines, with a target monthly output of 30 units and an annual capacity of 360 units. This expansion represents an initiative to strengthen the company’s manufacturing operations in the rapidly growing Indian market.
On March 7, 2025, Nissei disclosed plans to purchase land for a factory in India, and since then, the company has been negotiating to select a suitable location. The final choice was approved at a recent board meeting.
According to the company, details are currently being finalized to complete the purchase of the factory site and buildings. Nisshin has committed to providing updates when more information is available for disclosure.
This expansion into India aligns with the growing trend of international plastic machinery manufacturers establishing production facilities in the region to serve the rapidly developing Indian manufacturing industry.
Expansion in Texas
In January of this year, the company completed a $13 million expansion of its North American subsidiary, Nissei America, in San Antonio, Texas. The expanded facility began operations in February.
Nissei has production bases in Japan, China, Thailand, the United States, and Italy. Its U.S. subsidiary was established in November 2016 to provide large injection molding machines to the North American market with reliable delivery times. The U.S. factory officially opened in March 2018.
