Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) In The Pigment Field Finalized: Chroma Acquires Ferco

To expand its manufacturing footprint on the U.S. West Coast and enhance its product portfolio, Chroma Color Corp. recently acquired Ferco Color Inc. The company is headquartered in Chino, California, and is a manufacturer of customized colorants, additives, and specialty compounds. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Officials from Chroma, headquartered in McHenry, Illinois, stated in a press release on October 21 that Ferco, founded in 1994, "has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products, technical expertise, and reliable turnaround times, enabling customers to achieve strong results in the manufacturing process."

The press release states that Ferco's on-site analytical laboratory (known as "Einstein") sets the company apart by providing customers with comprehensive support in troubleshooting colorants, additives, resins, and final products.

Ferco sells to multiple end markets, including medical, food packaging, irrigation, pools and spas, aerospace, and cosmetics packaging.

Joe Herres, CEO of Chroma, stated, "The acquisition of Ferco Color highlights our commitment to expanding geographic coverage and enhancing the products we offer to our broad customer base. Our entire team is fully prepared to support Ferco Color's customers and team members during this transition, and we believe this partnership will enhance our ability to better meet the evolving needs of our customers."

Chroma provides specialty pigments and additive concentrates for different markets, including wire and cable, packaging, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods.
