Medical tubing extrusion company Xponent Global acquired by Arterex
Arterex is a global leader in medical device development and contract manufacturing. Through the acquisition of Xponent Global, it has expanded its medical device manufacturing product portfolio. Xponent Global, located in Massachusetts, USA, is a medical industry extrusion tubing manufacturer certified to ISO 9001:2015.

Xponent Global's production facility covers an area of 55,000 square feet (approximately 5,109 square meters) and is equipped with 8 extrusion production lines, including a 5,000 square foot (approximately 465 square meters) Class 8 clean room. The company offers high-quality precision filaments, guidewire extrusion tubes, multi-lumen tubes, tapered tubes, standard tubes, and high-precision single lumen tubes. Their products have a wide range of applications, from simple packaging tubes to demanding products required in neurology and laparoscopic devices.
"Xponent Global has been operating since 1937, bringing over 80 years of expertise to Arterex," said Bill Gerard, President of Arterex North America. "Through this acquisition, we are able to meet the extrusion needs of North American customers locally, adhering to the highest global industry standards."
Xponent Global was founded in 1937, originally known as New England Tape Company, primarily producing extruded plastic tape coatings for cables used by the U.S. Navy. Later, the company collaborated with leading medical device firms to develop radiopaque materials and related applications, which are still used today as radiographic tracing fibers.
Currently, Xponent Global provides extruders with diameters ranging from 1 to 3 inches for the medical industry, featuring secondary processing capabilities such as inline printing, stamping, cutting, slitting, punching, and flaring, as well as downstream packaging. The Class 8 cleanroom extrusion process enables the company to produce high-quality products, which can be supplied in bulk or further processed into finished components to meet the stringent performance requirements and packaging needs of medical customers.
"We are pleased to add strength to Arterex Group, a trusted provider of high-precision medical device solutions," said Chris Sullivan, President of Xponent Global. "As a qualified supplier for many well-known global medical companies, we share a common vision with Arterex to develop new technologies that can improve patient treatment outcomes."
Arterex is a global leader in diversified manufacturing solutions for the medical devices and life sciences industries. The company operates 14 advanced manufacturing facilities across four continents, employs over 2,000 people, and has been providing customers with design, research and development, engineering, composites, extrusion, injection molding, mold manufacturing, and advanced assembly solutions for 25 years.
