Special Additives division, sales of 2.09 billion euros, down 5.0% year-on-year, mainly due to a decrease in sales prices as a result of lower raw material and energy prices. EBITDA pre-profit of 227 million euros, up 8.6% year-on-year, this positive development is attributed to higher capacity utilization and lower costs brought about by the "FORWARD" action plan.
Advanced intermediate business, with sales reaching 1.804 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%, mainly due to a slight recovery in demand. EBITDA was 210 million euros, a year-on-year increase of 73.6%, mainly thanks to higher capacity utilization and cost savings achieved through the "FORWARD!" action plan.
