Internet Celebrity Instructor Zhang Apologizes to WEY Automotive After Calling on Wei Jianjun for the Truth
On August 19th, it was reported that recently, the blogger "Zhang Jiaoguan's Interesting Life" posted a video stating that his team's newly purchased Wei brand Gaoshan 8 experienced a sudden deceleration incident on the highway. The blogger insisted on wanting to speak with Wei Jianjun of Great Wall, which sparked a heated discussion.
Now, after more than a month of public discussion, Instructor Zhang has brought this incident to a close by apologizing.
Instructor Zhang stated in the video that the vehicle inspection results are out, indicating that the vehicle's electronic fuel pump experienced an intermittent fault. Because the driver was operating the new car for the first time and did not pay attention to the dashboard warnings, the vehicle continued to run in pure electric mode for more than an hour, eventually stopping after the battery was completely drained.
Instructor Zhang also stated that there were indeed emotional issues at the time and that he needs to formally apologize to Wei Brand Automobile. Through communication, the misunderstanding has been resolved.
Instructor Zhang also stated that in the future, he will continue to choose and support domestic car brands, and he will still choose this self-purchased Gaoshan 8 as his means of transportation.
It was previously reported that on July 2nd of this year, Instructor Zhang posted a video stating that on May 16th, while driving the Wey Gaoshan 8, which had just been picked up from the delivery center, he encountered a sudden deceleration and stop on the highway after driving just over 100 kilometers. The dashboard displayed a transmission fault.
Coach Zhang's team called the after-sales service of Wei Pai more than a dozen times, but no one answered. In the end, they had no choice but to pay for a tow truck to take the car away. They released a video under the name of "defending the rights of car owners," demanding that Wei Jianjun, the chairman of Great Wall, personally handle the issue, stating that they are not seeking compensation but just want to find out the cause.
On July 3rd, WEY officially announced that the company attaches great importance to the issue and immediately arranged for responsible personnel from the WEY direct-operated service center to communicate with the user and address the problem. After multiple rounds of communication, solutions including providing a courtesy car, replacing the faulty vehicle, and third-party inspection of the original car were offered.
Wei brand specifically pointed out that the influencer claimed to be an "extraordinary user" and requested to "communicate directly with Mr. Wei." Although the staff made multiple attempts to communicate proactively, the influencer refused communication and third-party testing on the grounds of "insufficient sincerity."
