3.German Company RCYL Launches Bicycles with 50% Recycled Plastic to Create Rust-Free Urban Cycling
As sustainable manufacturing reshapes industries, a German company is revolutionizing traditional cycling concepts with an almost fully plastic bicycle.
The RCYL bicycle, developed by plastic expert igus, has a frame made of 50% recycled fishing nets, featuring both rust resistance and lubrication-free properties. This innovation not only embodies the concept of environmental protection but also redefines the practicality of urban travel—its maintenance-free design combined with durability meets the needs of both urban residents and corporate fleets.
Priced at €1,243 and weighing approximately 17 kg, the RCYL bicycle uses high-performance plastic for components such as ball bearings and cranks, ensuring low-friction operation without the need for oiling. According to the company's official website, users can customize colors and accessories online, and the product is weather-resistant and can be cleaned directly with water. These features make it an ideal choice for scenarios requiring low maintenance costs, such as scenic spots and corporate parks.
