Inteplast Acquires German Plastic Sheet Manufacturer Con-pearl
On August 19, it was learned that Inteplast Group has acquired the German plastic sheet manufacturer Con-pearl from the Munich investment company Blue Cap.
Con-pearl, formerly known as Friedola Tech, was renamed in 2019 and is recognized as the first polypropylene (PP) hollow sheet manufacturer in Europe. The company has factories in Geismar and Leinefelde-Worbis in central Germany, as well as in Greenville, South Carolina, USA.
The products include pallet boxes and covers, reusable and collapsible packaging, moisture-resistant boards, as well as cover films and laminated materials. Thereafter, this business will become part of the World-Pak division within the sustainable packaging and printing solutions department of Inteplast.
The sister companies of this division include Profile in Texas, Coroplast in Kentucky, CoolSeal USA in Ohio, and Coroplast and Matra Plast in Quebec, Canada.
Dr. John Young, President of Inteplast Group, stated that Con-pearl's business in reusable containers and protective packaging aligns with the company's focus on sustainability.
“Throughout its 35 years of development, Con-pearl’s philosophy in sustainable packaging development has been a valuable asset for a company like ours, which integrates post-industrial and post-consumer recycled materials into its product line,” he pointed out. “With the addition of our new colleagues from Con-pearl, we are pleased to usher in a new era for warehousing and logistics solutions in a market that is already prepared for the circular economy.”
Andy Chen, President of Inteplast Sustainable Packaging and Printing Solutions, added that Con-pearl has an outstanding track record in developing long-life plastic sheets and plastic boxes.
"In product innovation at Con-pearl, recycled materials are just the tip of the iceberg," he said, "We look forward to seeing the results of the collaboration between the two companies."
Stefan Hoedt, CEO and Managing Director of Con-pearl, stated: "We have approximately 275 outstanding employees who practice best practices in production, quality, and customer service. With the resources and support provided by the Inteplast Group, our successful history in polypropylene sheet and packaging development is bound to reach new heights."
