Innova Engineered Acquires PolyCraft Tech

Plastmatch Global Digest 2025-09-03 15:30:08

Innova Engineered Plastics, formerly known as ThermoFab, recently announced the acquisition of PolyCraft Tech—a professional manufacturer based in San Diego, California, USA, specializing in precision-cast polyurethane enclosures and components.

Innova provides engineering-grade thick-walled plastic enclosures and disposable product molding services for the medical device and other highly regulated industries. The company stated that this strategic acquisition will expand its design and manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its presence on the West Coast.

Precision Cast Polyurethane Shell

PolyCraft Tech has over 25 years of experience in manufacturing precision cast polyurethane enclosures and components for medical device housings, aerospace interior components, and 3D printing development prototypes. In a press release, Innova noted that PolyCraft Tech is renowned for its engineering expertise, advanced mold manufacturing technology, and advantages in small to medium batch production. Its core competencies are highly aligned with Innova's development direction, progressively evolving into an integrated plastic manufacturing partner focused on speed, quality, and innovation.

Mark Rauenzahn, CEO of Innova Engineered Plastics, stated, “PolyCraft Tech’s expertise in cast polyurethane enables us to offer more comprehensive solutions, especially for customers who require fast, flexible, and technically demanding components.”

Positive growth strategy

Private equity investor Culper Capital Partners stated that it will fully support Innova's dual-driven strategy of "organic growth and growth through acquisitions." They have a wealth of complementary acquisition targets in reserve, which will enhance Innova's service portfolio and improve its business scalability.

PolyCraft Tech's San Diego operations have joined Innova's Design and Innovation Center, which is located in Shirley, Massachusetts, and its production facility in Mexicali, Mexico was also launched earlier this year.

As a company specializing in the custom manufacturing of thick-walled plastic enclosures, Innova has provided support for the production of products in fields such as surgical robots, organ transportation equipment, gene sequencing devices, scanning technology, autonomous robots, and information technology. The company’s business capabilities cover product design, prototyping, mold making, injection molding, and thermoforming.
