Increase of 4.79%! BDO exports from January to February reach 15,300 tons domestically.
On Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., Wumao Tong Foreign Trade Service Platform declared the export of 1,000 tons of BDO by Inner Mongolia Dongjing Biological Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. through the single window customs system to Wuhai Customs, with a total value of $852,170. The customs clearance was completed on the same day.
In January and February 2025, according to data from the General Administration of Customs, China's BDO export volume was 15,300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.79%. The main export countries included Vietnam, India, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Kuwait, and Oman. Although the export volume has increased, the growth rate is relatively low.
In January to March 2025, the international transaction price of BDO continued to decline, while the domestic listed price remained around 8,000 yuan per ton. By the end of March, the spot price of BDO fell to around 7,200 yuan per ton. The price of raw material calcium carbide rose from 2,400 yuan per ton in January to 2,700 yuan per ton by the end of March, without breaking through 3,000 yuan per ton. Additionally, due to local power rationing policies and other reasons, the industrial costs and profits of BDO enterprises were affected, with the profit margin for domestic sales and export sales being similar. In Wuhai region, BDO producers still rely on intermediaries, and self-operated exports face financial pressure.
In 2025, the Wuhai Municipal Bureau of Commerce provided foreign trade expansion policy guidance to BDO enterprises within its jurisdiction, engaged in in-depth exchanges with the companies, and promoted an integrated domestic and foreign trade plan. It assisted enterprises in refining their market positioning and analyzing global BDO market flows. Through various channels, such as hosting the Shanghai International Chemical Industry Exhibition, the bureau actively promoted and showcased Wuhai's BDO, aiming to establish it as a globally recognized brand.
Inner Mongolia Dongjing Bio-Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. is the first BDO export enterprise in Wuhai,拥有欧洲REACH认证 (holding European REACH certification), adhering to a high-end international BDO strategy. Despite the current low profit margins of BDO, the company persists in self-operated exports as a breakthrough, showcasing the indomitable spirit of Dongjing people and demonstrating a wise choice in the process of integrating domestic and foreign trade.
