In H1 2025, Passenger Car Camera Installations in China Reach 52.40 Million Units, Up 34.9% Year-on-Year
In the first half of 2025, the total number of cameras installed in passenger cars in China reached 52.396 million units, representing a year-on-year increase of 34.9%. This growth was mainly driven by BYD, Xiaomi Auto, and XPeng. Among these, the new forces had the highest number of camera installations, reaching 30.727 million units.
The overall installation volume of millimeter-wave sensors in Chinese passenger vehicles reached 16.617 million units, a year-on-year increase of 46.0%, mainly driven by BYD, Buick, and Xiaomi Auto. Among them, the new energy startups saw the fastest year-on-year growth in millimeter-wave sensor installations, mainly propelled by Xiaomi and Xpeng Motors.
The total ultrasonic installation volume in China's passenger vehicles reached 69.97 million units, a year-on-year increase of 21.4%, mainly driven by BYD, Xiaomi Auto, and XPeng; among them, the installation volume of domestic brands grew the fastest year-on-year, primarily driven by BYD and Geely Galaxy.
The total number of laser radar installations in China's passenger vehicles reached 953,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 64.3%, mainly driven by Xiaomi Auto, Denza, and Li Auto. Among them, the installation volume of laser radar in joint venture brands grew the fastest year-on-year, primarily driven by Toyota and Audi.
