Important Progress Made in Core Facilities of Polyolefin Project with Total Investment Exceeding 23.8 Billion Yuan!

On September 19, a new achievement was reported for the coal gasification facility project at the Yulin Coal Deep Processing Base of China Coal— the main structure of the gasification frame II has successfully topped out.

The China Coal Yulin Coal Deep Processing Base Project, as a benchmark project in the field of clean and efficient coal utilization at the national level, holds irreplaceable strategic significance for ensuring the stability of national energy supply and optimizing the energy industry structure. Among them, the recently topped-out gasification framework II is not only the "skeleton" and "hub" of the project's core production units but also the tallest gasification framework of its kind in the global coal chemical industry. Its construction quality directly affects the overall construction progress and future operational efficiency of the project.

The main structure of the gasification framework II adopts a reinforced concrete frame structure, with a total height of 105 meters, comprising 13 floors and covering an area of approximately 3,456 square meters.

The feasibility study of the Yulin Coal Deep Processing Base Project by China Coal estimates an investment of 23.888 billion yuan. The main construction content includes 2.2 million tons/year of methanol and 900,000 tons/year of polyolefin, along with the optimization and upgrading of the existing phase one coal chemical project to construct a 250,000 tons/year LDPE/EVA chain extension and supporting engineering projects.

The main units of the project include air separation, gasification, purification, sulfur recovery, methanol synthesis, MTO, olefin separation, three sets of polyolefin, and one EVA unit, among others. It is expected to be mechanically completed and commissioned by the middle of 2026. Once in operation, the project will effectively promote local economic and social development, facilitate the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure, and, at its peak construction period, create employment for over ten thousand people. At that time, China Coal Shaanxi Company will further expand its new advantages as a "chain master" enterprise in the industrial chain, promoting the coal chemical industry towards high-end, diversified, low-carbon development and the coupling development of coal, coal power, and new energy, thereby creating a dense industrial and value chain.
