From Technical Validation to Scenario Implementation, Humanoid Robot Sector Investment Value Highlights
The humanoid robot industry has recently experienced multiple catalysts, with the upcoming 2025 World Robot Conference and the world's first humanoid robot sports competition set to open soon. The release of industry orders signals an acceleration in the industrialization process. According to Wind data, the Wind Humanoid Robot Concept Index has performed strongly recently, rising by 14.95% since July 11.
Analysts believe that this year marks the first year of mass production for humanoid robots. The core logic of industry transactions is gradually shifting from thematic investment to industrial implementation. With strong growth expectations, it is expected to become a key investment theme in 2025, and its long-term investment value deserves attention.
The industry catalyst continues.
According to Wind data, on August 6, the Wind Humanoid Robot Concept Index rose by 2.83%. Among the index components, Robot and Orbbec-UW both surged over 14%, Zhongma Transmission and Zhongda Leader hit the daily limit, while Changsheng Bearing, Kingfa Sci. & Tech., Wolong Electric Drive, and others also followed the upward trend.
According to the news, the 2025 World Robot Conference, co-hosted by the China Electronics Society and the World Robot Cooperation Organization, will be held from August 8 to 12 at the Beiren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. The theme of the conference is "Making Robots Smarter and Physical Bodies More Intelligent."
At the press conference of the 2025 World Robot Conference held recently, Chen Ying, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, stated that this conference brings together over 200 excellent domestic and international robotics companies, including KUKA, Festo, Estun, Unitree Robotics, and Galaxy General, with more than 1,500 exhibits. Among them, there are over 100 newly launched products. Fifty humanoid robot companies will present their latest exhibits and industry solutions, marking the highest number of humanoid robot companies participating in similar exhibitions.
Jiang Guangzhi, Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, introduced the organization of the World Humanoid Robot Games at the press conference for the 2025 World Robot Conference and the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games held in May this year. He stated that the World Humanoid Robot Games is the world’s first comprehensive competitive event organized for humanoid robots and will be held from August 15 to 17 at the National Stadium and the National Speed Skating Oval. The competition events are divided into main events and peripheral events. The main events focus on humanoid robot skill competitions, including athletics, soccer, dance, as well as material handling and pharmaceutical sorting. The peripheral events emphasize fun and audience interaction, including badminton, table tennis, and basketball.
Meng Pengfei, Chief Analyst of Machinery at Kaiyuan Securities, stated that at the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, humanoid robots will be showcased together for the first time with over 150 units, covering industrial, service, medical, and other scenarios. At the conference, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced that it will further implement the "AI+" initiative. If subsequent industrial support and subsidy policies are introduced, China, with its advantages in application scenarios and a complete industrial chain, will drive the robotics industry into its first period of rapid development.
Orders are pouring in with good news.
Recently, there has been good news in the humanoid robot industry, with several leading companies securing large orders and the industry showing positive development trends.
UBTECH has won the bid for a robot equipment procurement project worth 90.5115 million yuan from MiYi (Shanghai) Automotive Technology Co., Ltd., marking UBTECH’s largest procurement order to date. Zhiyuan Robotics and Unitree Robotics have won the bid for China Mobile (Hangzhou) Information Technology Co., Ltd.'s bipedal humanoid robot OEM service procurement project, with a total amount of 124 million yuan. Leju Robotics expects its total annual humanoid robot deliveries to reach the thousand-unit level. Songyan Power’s total order volume has exceeded 2,500 units, with total contract value surpassing 100 million yuan.
According to the "2025 Humanoid Robot Industry Development Blue Book" released by Qianzhan Industry Research Institute, the global humanoid robot market is continuously growing, with a market size of approximately USD 2.16 billion in 2023, and is expected to increase to USD 32.4 billion by 2029. In China, the policy focus has shifted from technology to industrialization, with the market size estimated to be around CNY 2.76 billion in 2024, demonstrating significant growth potential.
Lü Juan, the head of the high-end manufacturing research team and chief analyst of high-end manufacturing at CSC Securities, believes that positive changes are occurring in the domestic robot industry chain. The intensive implementation of robot contract manufacturing service procurement projects indicates that the exploration of humanoid robots in terminal commercial scenarios has gradually entered the implementation stage. As the hardware and software capabilities of the industry chain further improve, it is expected that robot application scenarios will further expand.
It is recommended to focus on the three main lines.
Humanoid robots, as an emerging technology characterized by intensive technical requirements and a complex industrial chain, require both breakthroughs in underlying technologies and cost optimization and data accumulation driven by large-scale applications for their development. Zhou Zipeng, Executive General Manager of CICC Research Institute, believes that China, with its comprehensive supply chain and the potential of diverse scenario data, has the opportunity to shift from “technological catch-up” to “ecosystem leadership,” thereby establishing a “Chinese paradigm” for the global humanoid robot industry.
The research team of AVIC Securities Robotics believes that the core trading logic of the current humanoid robot industry is gradually transitioning from thematic investment to industrial implementation. The humanoid robot industry is making continuous progress in technological breakthroughs, expansion of application scenarios, and industrial chain collaboration, moving from technology verification to scenario implementation. Looking ahead to the market, the leading position of the technology sector remains solid, and the humanoid robot sector is expected to have strong growth potential, making its long-term investment value worthy of attention.
Qiu Shiliang, Co-Head of Zheshang Securities Research Institute and Head of the Advanced Manufacturing Team, believes that the entire industry chain of humanoid robots has broad market potential, with downstream application demand continuing to grow and the supply chain structure becoming increasingly mature. He suggests focusing on leading companies with certainty and undervalued targets.
Xing Tian, a mechanical industry analyst at Hualong Securities, stated that the industry trend for humanoid robots remains unchanged. The sector has entered a "technological breakthrough - mass production and cost reduction - scenario penetration" golden cycle and is expected to become a core investment theme in 2025. For the future market, it is recommended to focus on three main lines: first, high-value components, including ball screws, sensors, motors, and reducers; second, directions with potential for scenario implementation, such as home services, extreme operations (power inspection, mining, etc.), medical rehabilitation, and intelligent logistics; third, targets for mergers and acquisitions driven by policy catalysts.
