Eye of the Celestial God Becomes Sales Engine! BYD's Sales Exceed 2.86 Million Units from January to August, Retaining the National Car Sales Crown
According to Kuai Technology on September 26, this year from January to August, domestic car companies continued their growth trend, with both production and sales of automobiles exceeding 20 million units. The penetration rate of new energy in passenger cars reached 55.3%, and the market share of domestic brands reached 64%.
In terms of specific brands, amid the strong emergence of new energy and independent brands, BYD has retained its position as the sales champion among national car companies. Data shows that BYD sold 374,000 new energy vehicles in August, with cumulative sales from January to August reaching 2.864 million vehicles, marking a 23% year-on-year increase and securing a leading position in China Automotive Group's new energy rankings with a significant advantage.

Faced with the annual sales target of 4.6 million vehicles, BYD has already achieved 62%, and there is a great possibility of exceeding the target this year.

It is worth mentioning that BYD's "Tianshen Eye" assisted driving system, released at the beginning of the year, has accumulated sales of over 1.4 million vehicles. In August, the sales proportion of assisted driving models in the domestic market reached 90%, with the daily generated mileage of assisted driving data exceeding 87 million kilometers.

In the brand sales ranking of intelligent driving assistance models released by Pacific Automotive in August, BYD led with 263,700 units sold, which is equivalent to the combined sales of brands ranked 2nd to 10th.

In addition, the Lingyuan vehicle-mounted drone system and the super e platform featuring the groundbreaking megawatt flash charging technology have been successively implemented. The Han L and Tang L, which are the first to adopt the super e platform, continue to sell well, injecting core momentum into sales growth with their cutting-edge electrification technology.
In the overseas market, BYD's performance is also impressive. In August, BYD's passenger cars and pickups achieved overseas sales of 80,464 units, a year-on-year increase of 146.4%. The cumulative overseas sales in 2025 have reached 630,728 units, a year-on-year increase of 135.7%, accounting for 22% of the total sales.
