Evonik Rated as One of the World's Most Sustainable Companies by EcoVadis
In this year's assessment, the international authoritative sustainability rating agency EcoVadis awarded Evonik a gold rating to recognize its outstanding performance in sustainability. This rating means that over the past 12 months, Evonik's sustainability performance ranks among the top 5% of evaluated companies worldwide.
"The gold-level rating is a strong proof of our unwavering commitment to sustainable development, clearly demonstrating the results we can achieve when we work together to promote and shape sustainability," said Thomas Wessel, Chief Human Resources Officer and Director of Labor Affairs at Evonik, who also oversees sustainability matters on the board.
EcoVadis evaluates corporate performance from four dimensions: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. The assessment considers not only internal company data but also public information. As regulations and stakeholder expectations continue to evolve, the requirements for companies are also increasing.
Ralf Düssel, the Head of Sustainability at Evonik, emphasized: “Sustainability is a continuous improvement process, and we work hand in hand with stakeholders to drive this process forward. While optimizing our own processes, we are also committed to maximizing the positive impact our products bring to customer applications.”
Evonik is one of the founding members of the industry initiative "Together for Sustainability" (TfS), which promotes the unification of sustainability standards and audits in global supply chains. EcoVadis has once again awarded Evonik a gold rating, reflecting the success of this strategic collaboration and highlighting Evonik's pioneering role in sustainable supply chain management within the chemical industry.
