Empowering High-Quality Industrial Development! Biomedical Materials Innovation Platform Settles in Haipu, Changshu
On March 23rd, the Summit Roundtable on Frontiers and Transformation of Biomedical Materials was held at Baishifu (Changshu) Biological Materials Co., Ltd. in Changshu New Material Industrial Park. The Jiangsu Province Concept Validation Center (Soochow University) "Biomedical Materials and Intelligent Equipment" Sub-Center and the Baishifu (Changshu) production base were simultaneously launched on site, along with a signing and unveiling ceremony.

Academician Liu Zhongfan of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said in his speech that over the past 30 years, China's basic scientific research has made rapid progress. In the face of increasing pressure and challenges, a vast number of scientific and technological workers not only need to bravely scale the peaks of science, but also must stay grounded and transform research achievements into a powerful driving force for economic and social development. He hopes that this event will further stimulate the innovative enthusiasm and creative vitality of scientific and technological workers, promote deeper and broader exchanges and cooperation among the government, industry, academia, and research institutions, and provide strong support for the upgrading and transformation of local industries.

This aims to promote the transformation of domestic medical devices from "following" to "leading."
Deep integration of industry, academia, and research is the key engine for the leap in Changshu's life健康产业. The Jiangsu Concept Validation Center (Soochow University) "Biomedical Materials and Smart Equipment" sub-center, jointly established by Soochow University and BestFu, will focus on the regional socio-economic development needs. With support from the Changshu Municipal Government and the Changshu New Materials Industrial Park, it will leverage Soochow University's scientific research and innovation resources and BestFu's industrial development advantages. By focusing on core aspects such as technical assessment, experimental validation, and resource integration, it aims to build a fast track for transforming research results from laboratories to industrial applications. This initiative will add impetus to regional industrial upgrades and contribute to Changshu's goal of becoming a national hub for biomedical new materials.
In recent years, Changshu has focused on the life and health industry, forming three key development areas: pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, and healthcare. It has successively established high-end platforms such as the National Torch Biomedical Characteristic Industrial Base and the Suyu Biomedical Industrial Park, attracting 62 above-scale enterprises including Fuzile Pharmaceutical, WuXi AppTec, and Fresenius, with an annual output value exceeding 14 billion yuan. In particular, the Suyu Biomedical Industrial Park, where Bestof is located, is a biomedical industrialization platform jointly built by Changshu and Suzhou Industrial Park. A large number of pharmaceutical and CDMO companies are gathering here, accelerating the transformation of "technology lying in the laboratory" into "production line benefits."
