Recently, a message has been spreading rapidly online claiming that Gree Electric Appliances will soon launch an electric vehicle called "Pearl Travel" with a price of 999 yuan. This news has sparked extensive public attention and discussion.

On March 25th at noon, Gree Electric Appliances promptly refuted the rumor through its official communication channels. The company clearly stated that it has never produced or sold so-called electric bicycles priced at 999 yuan, nor does it have any business plans for such products. Gree Electric Appliances emphasized that the information circulating online is entirely false, and it has gathered evidence on the false links from relevant self-media accounts. The company will firmly take legal action against online rumors.

 

At the same time, a photo of Dong Mingzhu riding an electric scooter has been circulating online, with rumors claiming that this was Dong Mingzhu personally endorsing GREE's electric scooters. However, attentive netizens quickly discovered that this photo was actually taken when Dong Mingzhu visited the Lvkou electric scooter factory in 2023, and had nothing to do with the alleged GREE electric scooters.

 

 

In fact, Gree Electric Appliances has indeed made strides in the new energy vehicle sector, but not in the passenger car market. Gree's chairman and president, Dong Mingzhu, has stated in an interview that Gree does not make small passenger cars, but rather focuses on the research and production of various engineering vehicles such as sanitation vehicles, heavy trucks, and buses. When asked why the company has opted out of the consumer car market, Dong Mingzhu emphasized that this is not a withdrawal, but a strategic choice. She highlighted that Gree possesses core technologies that it can control and has developed multiple ancillary industries, including new energy vehicles.

Dong Mingzhu also revealed the export situation of Gree's energy storage equipment, stating that Gree's energy storage devices have been exported to various parts of the world, showcasing Gree's strong capabilities in the new energy sector.

Facing the camera, she admitted that she has never considered retirement, believing that work is her life.
