Do You Know the Precautions for Injection Molding Machine Maintenance and Adjustment?

1. Adjustment of the parallelism of the guide rails in the mold closing section

Using a precision level, perform a longitudinal rough leveling on the two hardened guide rails (adjust the leveling shims to raise or lower the rails so that the bubble in the level is centered). Then, place a parallel straightedge spanning the two guide rails, and position the level on the straightedge to carry out a lateral rough leveling. For large and medium-sized combined injection molding machines, also use the level to adjust the parallelism of the injection rails. Install the locating pins that connect the clamping device and the injection device, and tighten their connecting bolts and nuts.

2. Horizontal Alignment Inspection and Adjustment of Movable Template Guide Pillars

Use a precision level to perform longitudinal and transverse leveling adjustments on the guide post. First, place the level transversely, then longitudinally, and repeat the measurement and adjustment until the requirements are met. For transverse measurements, a parallel straightedge spanning both guide posts is also required. Permissible tolerances: transverse ≤0.16 mm/m; longitudinal ≤0.24 mm/m.

3. Inspection and Adjustment of the Parallelism Between Templates

The parallelism between the moving template and the template reference plane is adjusted and set at the factory, and is generally stable. However, due to transportation and installation, this parameter may change, so it needs to be checked and adjusted after installation. The adjustment of this parameter should be carried out by professionals.

4.Adjustment of coaxiality between the nozzle and the mold locating center hole

The adjustment of the coaxiality between the nozzle and the mold positioning center should be carried out after the horizontal adjustments of the template and the machine body, both laterally and longitudinally, have been completed.

The adjustment method is as follows:

① Loosen the fastening screws connecting the front and rear brackets of the injection seat guide rod to the machine body; loosen the locknuts on the horizontal adjustment bolts on both sides of the front bracket of the injection seat guide rod.

Using a vernier caliper with an accuracy of 0.05mm or better, measure L1, L2, L3, and L4 in the horizontal and vertical directions along the diameter. Adjust the horizontal adjustment bolts so that L1 equals L2; adjust the upper and lower adjustment screws so that L3 equals L4. The measurement error should not exceed half of the coaxiality specified in the table below.

③ When adjusting the coaxiality between the nozzle and the mold locating center hole, distortion may occur due to changes in the guide rod of the injection seat, which can cause an offset in the clearance between the screw and the barrel, resulting in wear. Therefore, while adjusting the coaxiality between the nozzle and the mold locating center hole, it is also necessary to measure and adjust the levelness of the injection seat guide rod (with a tolerance value ≤ 0.05/M); use a feeler gauge to measure the clearance between the rear end of the screw and the barrel.
