Spanish masterbatch specialist Delta Tecnic said it has developed a pigment additive, which recently obtained certification from the French organisation providing research, consultancy, testing, and certification services in the construction industry CSTB.

Delta Tecnic, which has been owned by investment group Investindustrial since last year said it had recently achieved CSTB approval in Germany, “demonstrating the effectiveness of its proposal for window and door profile manufacturers operating in a highly competitive industrial context, marked by sustainable transformation and heterogeneity of the machinery park”.
The Spanish firm said the main technical challenge lies in the pigment’s ability to withstand CSTB’s most severe test; being exposed to extreme environmental conditions, including solar radiation, humidity, water, and abrasive particles, for six months.
Such research tested the quality of the pigment’s colouring “and its ability to maintain its aesthetic and functional qualities over the long term”, it added.
Brita Kunze, sales director Deltacolor at Delta Tecnic, said pigments had been “specifically selected for their lightfastness and outdoor performance, and in adaptable formats such as small micropellets or the innovative super small pellets, which guarantee perfect colour homogeneity without compromising the mechanical properties of the profile”.
The CSTB, which employs nearly 1,000 staff, including 500 engineers, said it was “dedicated to making buildings more efficient and more respectful of people and the environment”.
