A: On February 4th, China lawfully decided to add the US-based Illumina, Inc. to the unreliable entity list. The company violated normal market transaction principles by interrupting regular transactions with Chinese enterprises and taking discriminatory measures against them, severely damaging the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies. Considering the circumstances of the company's illegal actions, the unreliable entity list mechanism lawfully made the decision to prohibit it from exporting gene sequencing instruments to China.

To safeguard national sovereignty, security, and development interests, based on relevant laws such as the "Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China," the "National Security Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People's Republic of China," and in accordance with the provisions of the "Unreliable Entity List Regulations," the unreliable entity list mechanism has decided to add the US-based Illumina, Inc. (Illumina, Inc.) to the unreliable entity list on February 4, 2025. The following measures will be taken against the company:

Banning its export of gene sequencing instruments to China.

Matters not covered in this announcement shall be executed in accordance with the "Unreliable Entity List Regulations."

This announcement takes effect from the date of publication.
