China Automotive Circulation Association: August New Energy Commercial Vehicle Retail Sales Reached 73,400 Units, Up 45.96% Year-On-Year

According to data provided by the Commercial Vehicle Professional Committee of the China Automobile Dealers Association, retail sales of new energy commercial vehicles reached 73,400 units in August 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 45.96% and a month-on-month growth of 2.69%. From January to August, the cumulative retail sales of new energy commercial vehicles totaled 502,900 units, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 54.52%.

In August 2025, the retail sales of new energy commercial vehicles reached 73,400 units, marking a year-on-year increase of 45.96% and a month-on-month increase of 2.69%. Among these, 96.9% of the sales came from pure electric commercial vehicles, with sales reaching 71,100 units, representing a year-on-year growth of 48.82%.

From the perspective of types, the sales of new energy trucks reached 47,300 units, accounting for 64.4%, with a year-on-year increase of 86.23% and a month-on-month growth of 7.75%. The sales of new energy buses were 26,100 units, accounting for 35.6%, with a year-on-year increase of 4.93% and a month-on-month decrease of 5.35%.

The top 5 companies/brands account for 41.01% of sales, which are Geely Farizon, Foton Motor, SAIC-GM-Wuling, SAIC Maxus, and XCMG.

II. Cumulative retail sales of new energy commercial vehicles from January to August 2025

From January to August 2025, the cumulative retail sales of new energy commercial vehicles reached 502,900 units, marking a year-on-year increase of 54.52%. Of these, 96.51% of the sales came from pure electric commercial vehicles, with sales reaching 485,300 units, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 55.41%.

In terms of type, the cumulative sales of new energy trucks reached 317,100 units, accounting for 63.06% and a year-on-year growth of 96.86%. The cumulative sales of new energy buses reached 185,800 units, accounting for 36.94% and a year-on-year growth of 13.02%.

From the perspective of corporate/brand performance, from January to August, the cumulative sales of the top five enterprises/brands accounted for 37.62%. These are Geely Yuan Cheng, Foton Motor (600166.SH), SAIC-GM-Wuling, XCMG, and Chery Automobile.
