Canada Launches Third Sunset Review Investigation on Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duties for Chinese Oil Pipes
According to the China Trade Remedy Information Network, on October 10 and October 14, 2025, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) respectively issued announcements to initiate the third anti-dumping and countervailing sunset review investigation on Oil Country Tubular Goods originating from or imported from China. Interested parties should submit responses to the sunset review investigation questionnaire by November 20, 2025.
On August 24, 2009, the Canada Border Services Agency initiated anti-dumping and countervailing investigations on oil country tubular goods originating in or imported from China. On February 22, 2010, the Canada Border Services Agency made a final determination on anti-dumping and countervailing duties for the products involved from China. On March 23, 2010, Canada officially imposed anti-dumping and countervailing duties on Chinese oil country tubular goods. On June 30, 2014, the Canada Border Services Agency initiated the first sunset review investigation on anti-dumping and countervailing duties for oil country tubular goods originating in or imported from China. On October 24, 2014, the Canada Border Services Agency made its first final sunset review determination on anti-dumping and countervailing duties for oil country tubular goods originating in or imported from China. On March 2, 2015, Canada extended the validity period of anti-dumping and countervailing duties on Chinese oil country tubular goods for the first time. On February 5 and February 6, 2020, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal and the Canada Border Services Agency respectively issued announcements to initiate the second sunset review investigation on anti-dumping and countervailing duties for oil country tubular goods originating in or imported from China. On July 3, 2020, the Canada Border Services Agency made a positive final determination in the second sunset review of anti-dumping and countervailing duties on Chinese oil country tubular goods. On December 10, 2020, Canada extended the validity period of anti-dumping and countervailing duties on Chinese oil country tubular goods for the second time.
