BYD Becomes the Choice of Multiple Heads of State

It is noteworthy that President Lula has already chosen the BYD Tang EV as his daily vehicle, indicating his strong endorsement of the brand. Since entering the Brazilian market, BYD has consistently focused on local development, not only creating numerous local jobs but also introducing advanced new energy technologies to South America, thereby supporting the region's green transportation transition. According to data, BYD's sales in Brazil have surpassed 20,000 units, with a surge in demand for new energy vehicles in overseas markets. On January 25, 2024, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan led a delegation to visit BYD's global headquarters, where Chairman Wang Chuanfu handed over a Yangwang U8 to President Mirziyoyev, making this model the presidential vehicle. During the visit, President Mirziyoyev watched a live demonstration of the blade battery needle penetration test and the Yangwang U8's in-place turning function. He highly praised BYD's core technological capabilities. The construction and commissioning of BYD's Uzbekistan factory is not only an important outcome of deepening economic and trade cooperation between China and Uzbekistan but also injects strong momentum into the upgrade and green development of Uzbekistan's automotive industry.

The Jordanian royal family also recognizes Chinese manufacturing. Queen Rania of Jordan has chosen the Yangwang U8 as her vehicle. Queen Rania, who has long been committed to promoting social progress with an international perspective and modern ideas, personally drives the Yangwang U8 frequently. This not only reflects her recognition of the vehicle's performance and quality but also conveys her affirmation of Chinese technological innovation. It adds a new link to the friendly exchanges between the people of China and Jordan.

Going back to an earlier time, in 2018, former Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari designated the BYD e6 as her official vehicle. She explicitly stated her willingness to be a spokesperson for BYD and planned to promote the full electrification of the presidential vehicle fleet. Following the example set by President Bhandari, other senior government officials, including the Minister of Energy and the Director of the Electricity Authority, also chose the BYD e6, creating a positive demonstration effect of recognition for new energy vehicles among the leadership group, which contributed to the construction of Nepal's green transportation system.
