The high-end brand Lancia under Stellantis has adopted the Rohm Bocklit® optical HT to create the iconic "Holy Grail of Light" theme lighting for its new flagship model, marking Lancia's entry into the electric vehicle sector and representing the first step in the brand's revival. Built on the popular compact car platform, the vehicle embodies an innovative spirit through a redesign, set to launch in Milan in February 2024. The new model replaces the long-standing chrome grille with a unique, stylish "Lancia Grail" theme lighting: three blade-shaped light strips (two horizontal long light strips converge into a vertical short light strip) serve as daytime running lights, and when night falls, they form the brand's distinctive new signature front lights. As Lancia CEO Luca Napolitano stated, this Grail represents Lancia's new starting point in the electric vehicle sector. The next three models from Lancia will also adopt this front-end design.

The "Holy Grail of Light" is the new emblem of the Blue Flag electric vehicle model. Magna Lighting Company uses Rohm's Bockley.^®Optical HT produces a 50-centimeter optical fiber for Lancia Ypsilon.^®Optical HT is a PMMA molding plastic with a high heat distortion temperature, making it particularly suitable for use as a long strip light guide in automotive front ends.

The light guide of the Lancia Ypsilon is 50 centimeters long and is placed within a horizontal LED light strip, made by Magna Lighting using PLEXIGLAS® Optical HT material. Graph Baokeli^®Optical HT also has good processing performance and can produce ultra-long, ultra-thin components through injection molding. This is reflected in the Lancia Ypsilon.

Miroslav Havlásek, the lighting project manager for Magna Electronics, Car Mirrors & Lighting, explained why they chose Borker® Optical HT: "Many traditional materials on the market currently excel in only one aspect. They either provide the required optical performance but cannot withstand prolonged high temperatures, or vice versa. We chose Borker® Optical HT because it meets both requirements."

In addition, Baokeli® Optical HT also has good processing performance, enabling the production of ultra-long and ultra-thin components through injection molding. Its outstanding optical clarity ensures excellent performance for ultra-long light guides, making it possible to produce light guides longer than 50 centimeters.
