Arkema Launches New Brand Name Zenimid™ for High-Performance Polyimide Product Range
Arkema and its affiliate PI Advanced Materials have announced the launch of a new brand name for their flagship high-performance polyimide product: Zenimid™. This move marks an important step for PI Advanced Materials in expanding the global reach of its product portfolio across multiple markets, including aerospace, automotive, electronics, and industrial sectors.

Combine "zenith" and "polyimide" to symbolize commitment.
Zenimid™ polyimide is specifically designed for use in the most demanding environments, offering excellent dimensional stability, flexibility, heat resistance, chemical resistance, and electrical insulation. This material is available in films, varnishes, and profiles, with applications including flexible printed circuit boards (FPCB) and graphite sheets in smart devices, battery management systems (BMS), and 5G infrastructure.
PI Advanced Materials is the world's first manufacturer of ultra-thin, non-stretched polyimide films with a thickness of 4 micrometers (μm), holding the number one market share in the global polyimide film market.
HeeJoon Ham, Chief Financial and Strategy Officer of PI Advanced Materials, stated: “‘Zenimid™’ is a name derived from the combination of ‘Zenith’ and ‘Polyimide,’ symbolizing PI Advanced Materials’ commitment to delivering top-tier polyimide performance. The launch of the Zenimid™ brand signifies its evolution into an independent brand recognized for cutting-edge performance, innovation, and durability. This strategic move enables us to communicate the unique value of our products to customers more clearly and supports their continued growth in the global market.”
Following Arkema's acquisition of a 54% stake in PI Advanced Materials, Zenimid™ polyimide has enhanced Arkema's high-performance polymer portfolio, which includes its flagship products Rilsan® PA11, Rilsamid® PA12, Pebax® TPE, Kynar® PVDF, Orgasol® PA12 powders, and Kepstan® PEKK materials.
