Ant Group Releases AI Glasses Trusted Connection Technology Framework gPass, Rokid, Xiaomi and Others Take the Lead

Sina Technology News, morning of September 12th, at the 2025 Inclusion·Bund Conference,Ant GroupThe world's first trusted connection technology framework for smart glasses, gPass, has been released. This technology features three core capabilities: "security, interaction, and connection." It aims to achieve secure, trustworthy, and instant information exchange between AI glasses and intelligent agents, providing users with a seamless service experience. At the same time, it establishes a secure AI digital service ecosystem for glasses manufacturers and developers.
During the conference, Yu Chun, an associate professor at the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory of Tsinghua University, mentioned the current state of the AI glasses industry: "Currently, the functions of AI glasses are still at the basic interaction stage, such as shooting, translation, prompting, and simple dialogue. Overall, there is still a significant gap compared to mobile phones. Limited hardware computing power and insufficient storage restrict the operation of complex functions. In terms of software ecosystems, mid to low-end products have difficulty dynamically loading applications, leading to challenges in ecosystem expansion."
He pointed out that the scarcity of native applications, the unique interaction logic leading to high development barriers, and the fragmentation in chip and system selection within the industry severely limit the deepening and popularization of services. "The service potential of current AI glasses has not yet been fully unleashed, and there is an urgent need to build an open and trustworthy underlying support system."
Faced with these core industry challenges, building a unified, secure, and interconnected underlying infrastructure has become the key breakthrough to break the status quo and drive AI glasses from being a "basic tool" to becoming a "personal intelligent agent." Ant Group's launch of gPass is precisely aimed at addressing this urgent need.
Ant Group’s Chief Security Officer (CTO) Chen Liang introduced that gPass has opened up Ant’s financial-grade security capabilities, supporting AI glasses to evolve into a super assistant for users with three core strengths: security, interaction, and connectivity.
In terms of security, gPass leverages technologies such as trusted identity circulation, end-to-end encryption, and device authentication to ensure that "the device belongs to the user," creating a secure barrier for information transmission and comprehensively safeguarding user information and privacy. Currently, gPass has successfully adapted to chip-level security solutions for both Android and RTOS dual systems.
In terms of interaction, gPass integrates seamless biometric authentication technologies such as voiceprint, iris, and fingerprint recognition to achieve convenient and secure verification that "the user is the person themselves," ensuring all operations are performed by the authorized individual and enhancing reliability and security of use.
In terms of connectivity, gPass can intelligently recognize the user's temporal and spatial context, supporting instant and secure message exchanges with various intelligent agents. It features cross-platform synchronization, message optimization, and multimodal notifications, providing an efficient and natural experience.
It is understood that gPass has been first applied to eyewear brands such as Rokid, Xiaomi, Quark, and Thunderbird, enabling "look-to-pay" functionality. In the future, it will unleash more technological potential in scenarios such as cultural tourism, travel, and healthcare. For example, in the healthcare scenario, through gPass, users can conveniently access services like health consultation, AI diagnosis, appointment reminders, and medication interpretation via AI glasses, achieving a seamless and accompanying health care experience while ensuring privacy protection.
