Recently, Chezhinet learned from relevant channels that Mercedes-Benz is about to launch a brand-new all-electric SUV—the GLC EV. The new model will make its global debut on September 7 at the IAA Mobility exhibition in Munich. As a major upgrade in Mercedes-Benz’s electric vehicle lineup, the new car will not only feature a completely refreshed design but will also adopt the brand’s new family design language, delivering a highly recognizable visual effect.

The most striking change is the completely revamped signature chrome grille at the front. The new grille draws inspiration from the brand's classic models, the W108 and the 600 Pullman. While retaining the chrome frame, the interior features a mesh structure with a smoked glass visual effect and is embedded with contour light strips, exuding a strong sense of technology. Although Mercedes-Benz has yet to reveal the full design of the standard grille, it has already showcased the optional dynamic light grille, which consists of up to 942 programmable LED pixels. Through animated lighting effects, it endows the entire vehicle with a unique sense of “vitality.”

Reportedly, the new GLC EV will be the first to feature the latest phase of Mercedes-Benz’s “Sensual Purity” design philosophy. Inside, it will be equipped with the brand’s iconic MBUX Hyperscreen triple display, integrated with the all-new MB.OS vehicle system. The system supports an AI voice assistant and a 3D graphics engine, providing users with a more immersive human-machine interaction experience. As the electrified extension of the GLC series, the GLC EV is not only set to inherit the role of sales mainstay, but will also pioneer new technologies and design innovations.

Mercedes-Benz has also revealed that the GLC EV making its debut this time will be equipped with the "EQ Technology" package. The brand-new design language is also expected to gradually be extended to other models, covering many future new and facelifted products. For more information about the new vehicle, Car Quality Network will continue to follow up and report.
