On March 20, in the waste material recycling and processing industrial park of Hala Yugong Town, Korla City, Xinjiang, the progress of the Korla City再生资源回收利用项目进展顺利,部分厂房已投入使用,工作人员正有序分拣回收物。 regeneration resource recycling and utilization project is going smoothly, some workshops have been put into use, and staff are orderly sorting the recyclables.

Korla City's recycling and utilization project mainly recovers waste items and conducts detailed sorting, subsequently transporting them to downstream processing enterprises in the park for further treatment. The park is equipped with 26 storage yards and related supporting facilities, divided into seven major functional areas, covering multiple fields including waste plastic recovery and processing area, waste textiles and waste paper recovery and processing area, end-of-life vehicles and tire recovery and dismantling area, and waste electrical and electronic products recovery and processing area.

Li Yunfei, the person in charge of Zhonghuan Huike (Xinjiang) Resource Recycling and Utilization Co., Ltd., introduced that the Korla City Recycled Resources Recovery and Utilization Project plans to have a total investment of 35 million yuan, starting construction in March 2024, with an expected completion by the end of 2025. Currently, the project has completed 50%, and more than 150 intelligent recycling bins have been deployed in Korla City, covering 142 residential areas. After the project is completed, the daily processing capacity for recyclables can reach over 50 tons, which will effectively improve the resource recycling rate of Korla City and enhance residents' environmental awareness. At present, the project has provided employment for more than 100 local villagers, and it is expected to create 500 job opportunities after completion.
