40,000-Ton-Per-Year Polypropylene (PP) Unit Extrusion Granulation System Successfully Completed Initial Material Trial Run

Recently, the physical trial run of the 400,000 tons/year polypropylene unit in the Guangxi Petrochemical refining and chemical integration transformation and upgrading project was successfully completed on the first attempt, producing qualified pellets. As the core production capacity carrier of the unit, the successful pelletizing of the extruder is crucial for the smooth advancement of the entire project.

The extrusion granulation unit is the core equipment of the polypropylene plant. The Guangxi project team of the third branch company implemented a comprehensive effort focusing on key aspects such as unit foundation acceptance, equipment arrival and unpacking, equipment installation, electrical and instrumentation commissioning, and trial runs with actual materials. Since the installation of the main gearbox began on May 19, the project team has targeted each installation milestone, overcoming challenges such as tight construction schedules caused by staggered equipment deliveries. The team completed all mechanical installations by August 15 and finished all instrumentation commissioning by September 5, successfully completing all construction tasks.

At 18:50 on the 19th, the extrusion unit was operating normally; by 19:30, successful pellet cutting was achieved. During the trial run, personnel at various positions performed their duties and collaborated effectively, maintaining "synchronization" with the client, staying on-site to fully cooperate with the material trial run. Through intense and orderly operations, the extrusion and granulation unit sequentially completed key steps such as starting the main motor, pulling materials, die striking, die closing, and starting the pellet cutter, successfully producing the first batch of qualified product pellets. This marks the successful one-time completion of the material trial run for the polypropylene unit's extrusion and granulation unit in the Guangxi Petrochemical Refining and Chemical Integration Transformation and Upgrade Project.
