Usage Guidelines

Microban® antimicrobial additive IB10 is supplied in powder form. Please refer to the accompanying safety data sheet for detailed handling and safety information; it is strongly recommended that operators follow all safety protocols. The dosage varies depending on the finished product and application. Generally, the addition ratio by weight ranges from 0.1% to 1.0%. Thorough mixing of the antimicrobial concentrate powder into the application ensures complete integration with the matrix material, thereby maximizing the antimicrobial effect.
 Handling Requirements
Microban® antimicrobial additive IB10 is a free-flowing hygroscopic fine powder packaged in sealed aluminum foil bags. Do not open the bag before use. Handle with extra care to prevent moisture exposure. Avoid prolonged exposure (>half a day) to normal indoor humidity conditions. Exposure to moist environments may cause the antimicrobial powder to clump, affecting dispersion during use. Visible large lumps and discoloration indicate irreversible degradation of the antimicrobial additive IB10. Unused antimicrobial powder should be resealed in an airtight container for future use. Once incorporated into the finished product, environmental moisture will no longer affect product performance.

Recommended Antimicrobial Testing
It is recommended to use testing methods JIS Z2801 or ISO 22196 to test the antimicrobial efficacy of solid surfaces. Depending on the inherent surface properties of the polymer, it may be necessary to adjust the nutrient load and initial inoculum levels.
