Application
Microban® antimicrobial additive ZO1-5070-080 belongs to the ZPTech® product series, a broad-spectrum antimicrobial formulation. It is suitable for various cross-linked polyurethane chemicals, such as polyurethane foam, coatings, and reaction injection molding (RIM) processes.
Properties
• Easy to process, medium viscosity dispersion
• Content may settle; however, the formula is easy to redisperse and has anti-agglomeration properties
• Excellent antibacterial and antifungal activity in the finished product
• Long-term stability and durability in polymer applications
• Suitable for various polyurethane cross-linked systems
Usage Guidelines
Microban® antimicrobial additive ZO1-8180-250 is suitable for various polyurethane cross-linked chemicals. It is recommended to add this formulation to the polyol side. Please refer to the accompanying safety data sheet for detailed handling and safety information; it is strongly advised that operators comply with all safety protocols. The dosage varies depending on the finished product and application. Typically, the addition ratio by weight is between 0.4% and 1.0%.
Mix Before Use:Microban® antimicrobial additive ZO1-8180-250 may settle within the container, so it must be thoroughly stirred with a stirrer before use.
The stirring speed does not need to be too fast; we recommend stirring for at least 5 minutes before use.
Recommended Antimicrobial Testing
It is recommended to use test methods AATCC100, ASTM E2180, JIS Z2801, or ISO 22196 to test the antimicrobial efficacy of solid surfaces, depending on the water absorption capacity of the foam/material. Depending on the inherent surface properties of the polymer, the nutrient load and initial inoculum level may need to be adjusted. ASTM G21 or AATCC TM30(iii) can be used to demonstrate antifungal efficacy.
